The "Configure an Output -- Schedule" page is the final page in the "Configure an Output" series. (See the Task Overview for information on the complete output creation process, including output navigation rules.)
On this page you indicate how often you want to generate the output you have just defined: On Demand, Continuously, Hourly, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.
As you consider your output schedule, here are a few points to keep in mind:
If you schedule an output as On Demand, no output files will be generated automatically. You must select the output on the "View Outputs" page and click the Perform button. (For more information, see Viewing Outputs.)
Allow for some margin of error in clock synchronization. For example, if you need to collect usage data for a process beginning at 10 minutes past the hour, specify an output collection time of 5 minutes past the hour.
If you need near real-time usage information, use the Continuously option.
When generating output files hourly or continuously, use the Except option to accommodate system down times for backups and other system administration.
